Cord Safety: Always our priority for your children’s sake.

CERTIFIED_LABELAt Made in the Shade, one of the most important elements of our work is to talk about safety — especially when little ones are in the picture. Sadly, tragic accidents do happen, which is why we have partnered with industry leaders like Graber to provide high quality window fashions that offer the best in safety for everyone.

For example, Graber actively participates in the Best for Kids Certification Program administered by the Window Covering Manufacturers Association (WCMA). In fact, Graber is one of the few major manufacturers that offer cordless lift and other safety features on all of their products – including blinds.

  • Aluminum Blinds
  • Horizontal Blinds (Wood and Faux Wood)
  • Roller Shades
  • Solar Shades
  • Cellular Shades
  • Pleated Shades

For a limited time, Cordless Lift is available as a FREE UPGRADE on most Graber products!

Whether you’re looking for cord safety or even motorized options, we can match the right features for your needs.

At Made in the Shade, we work hard to ensure that safety is a primary factor in every window treatment we sell and install. It’s a way to protect the ones we love while giving our rooms the look and feel we want.

Most families opt for corded blinds because of their low cost and ease of operation, but they may be a safety hazard for small children and even pets. If necessary, we can install cord cleats at no additional charge to keep cords out of the way. Ideally, though, cordless window treatments offer the ultimate in safety — and the peace of mind easily offsets the cost difference.

In fact, several of our products offer cordless lift as a standard feature! Ask us about these options. You’ll be glad you did. For example, Horizons offers free cordless lift on every single shade they make — both Roman shades and roller shades. It’s a beautiful look that has cord safety in mind from the beginning!

For homes that have blinds or other window treatments manufactured before 2001, we encourage families to consider replacing them with products that meet today’s safety standards. We especially urge replacement if there are dangling cords that could be a safety hazard.

Cord safety has always been a priority for us at Made in the Shade, and we are more than delighted to discuss different options for everyone. Let’s work together to make every home and office a safer, more beautiful environment for everyone!
