Instead of using a standard valance, this homeowner chose to treat the sliding panels with a wood cornice that matched the rest of her trim. Beautiful!

Cordless Roller Shades installed in Dover

We got a call from a homeowner near Dover on Kentucky Lake asking if we could install blackout shades in their lake home. Naturally, we jumped at the opportunity! The scenery from every window in this home is absolutely stunning, so they didn’t want to restrict that view at all.

Our solution was Graber Lightwaves Roller Shades with cordless lift and a cassette valance. The shades lower easily, and lift with a simple tug. This allows for privacy when the shades are lowered — not to mention that family and guests can sleep in!

A special challenge was a sliding glass door in the master bedroom. For that door, they selected a Graber Sliding Panel made from the same blackout material as the rest of the shade. To top it off, we added a  7 1/2″ wood cornice that matches the rest of the wood throughout the home. The results were stunning!

At Made in the Shade, we believe that every window is a canvas — and each home is an opportunity to treat those windows with something very special. We were delighted with the finished product in this lake house — just imagine what we can do for you!
