Go Bold! Painted wood shutters transformed this Sango kitchen
When we met with this client, we talked about plenty of ideas on how to transform her kitchen. The existing blinds were just not cutting the mustard for her, and she wanted a whole new look. When we got to the option of painted wood shutters, it was obvious that this would be the perfect solution.
Shutters are available in a wide variety of paints and stains, and may even be finished with a custom paint color. In her case, she wanted to go with black. Good old, basic black! Her cabinets were a dark gray, with a light gray granite countertop. Black appliances added to the look of the kitchen. The white windows were just, well, boring!
This is one of the most amazing parts of what we do — helping our clients achieve the vision for their windows. But that’s nothing like watching their eyes as we make the transformation happen on Installation Day!
Wood Shutters: Worth the Investment!
Wood shutters are the only window treatment that adds to the value of the home. This is because they’re custom made (within a 16th of an inch!) for each window. They’re considered furniture for your window and typically are considered a permanent part of the home. As such, they are a significant investment, and all of our our manufacturers offer lifetime warranties on these beautiful window treatments.
For this kitchen, our client chose the clean look of a hidden tilt — removing the tilt bar from the front of the shutter, giving even more view-through. It’s a beautiful, clean look that adds a little modern flair to these timeless window treatments.
