How to cover arched windows on a budget

Every once in a while, we have an opportunity to cover arched windows with some pretty fantastic treatments, but the problem of budget is one that has to be tackled frequently. For this client near Clarksville’s Exit 4 area, we had two nearly identical windows that needed an extra bit of love.

The choice was whether to use Graber 2 1/2″ double-bevel composite blinds or cellular shades for the windows themselves. But those arches. Wow. Each one was over five feet wide and let in a ton of light — especially annoying for a bedroom setting.

During our in-home consultation, we discussed multiple options for the windows — shutters, custom arched panel shutters, custom blind arches, cellular arches (which are GREAT with cellular shades, and can easily match the material of cellular shades), and the most economical option of all: a Graber Faux Wood Sunburst Arch.

These arches are an inexpensive option for arched windows and are available in a wide variety of sizes. The louvers are manually placed, but they give the room an added touch of elegance for the fraction of the price of a custom arched panel shutter. We were able to easily match the composite blind in color. Together, they really made for a beautiful combination.

The composite blinds themselves were another of our “out of the box” styles — with a beautiful double-bevel look throughout and cloth tapes to add an extra touch of elegance. These blinds are a fantastic way to add style to the room, especially when you can spend a little extra since the arch itself can be treated so reasonably!
