Made in the Shade Clarksville is proud to support Habitat for Humanity

This home, built by volunteers from Habitat for Humanity was among the latest recipients of donated blinds from Made in the Shade of Clarksville.
Habitat for Humanity is one of the great charities that benefits the people of Clarksville by helping lower-income families afford a home. We at Made in the Shade of Clarksville have been a partner with the local Habitat office for more than a year now, by providing high quality faux wood blinds for new Habitat homeowners.
To date, Habitat for Humanity has built over 90 homes in the Clarksville area. The latest homes were dedicated in December 2017, giving two new families the opportunity to own their own home. For us, donating blinds for this effort was a no-brainer. It’s just a small way for us to give back to the community that has supported us so well!
Both families participated heavily in volunteer hours and even helped in the construction process. Their “sweat equity” is a major part of keeping the final price of the home down. Other volunteers throughout town also gave of their time and resources to get these houses ship-shape and ready for move-in.
Habitat for Humanity and Apostles Build
One of the homes was built in part by Apostles Build, an initiative that includes people from multiple churches throughout town. This particular home was broken ground in May 2017 after the family lost everything they had in a tragic fire just a few days before.
Apostles Build has a few really awesome traditions, and one of those customs is to write encouraging scriptures and blessings throughout the framework. Every wall is inscribed with words of encouragement for the homeowners.
Today, they are getting settled in their beautiful new home with a gorgeous backyard and a stunning view over the Red River valley. It’s a recovery story for the ages, and we are both honored and humbled to be a part of it.
We are proud to partner with our dear friends at Habitat for Humanity, and look forward to hearing the stories of future homeowners as they embrace the American Dream.
Thank you, Clarksville, for all your support, as it allows us to give back with so much for the community. We can’t wait to see what comes next!
