Shutters transformed their entire home, but this one window was amazing!
At Made in the Shade of Clarksville, we are always excited to work with new clients, and this family was ready to make their forever home something extra special. We helped them choose the right products throughout their home. First, we suggested beautiful blinds for the bedrooms. then, we offered an exquisite natural drapery and wood cornice for their patio doors, and shutters went everywhere else!
It’s hard to start where this home’s awesomeness begins, but its open floor plan for the living/dining/kitchen area was clearly the highlight of the home. In fact, we’re guessing it’s part of the reason this family chose this floor plan. But like most homes in the Sango area, it’s practically butted against the wall of their next-door neighbor’s house, so privacy was a huge concern.
Ready to meet the challenge!
We started with classic Norman blinds for the bedrooms. These blinds are among the best in the industry, with their standard SmartPrivacy slats that don’t have any visible route holes. They’re also lighter than most faux wood blinds, which makes for easy lifting.
Then, there was that patio door. At over 12′ wide, this gargantuan window needed an extra special love, so we suggested a beautiful natural drape from Graber. We topped it off with a stunning wood cornice with a keystome that covers the headrail. For the cornice, we chose a paint that matched their white trim. The drape itself is a classic split-draw natural shade fabric with a blackout liner. No more glare hitting that living room TV!
Then there came the shutters. The rest of the windows in the kitchen and living room were all treated with beautiful Norman Woodlore PLUS shutters, taking advantage of their wider panel maximums and lighter weight than standard Woodlore shutters.
Finally, the master bedroom needed some extra special attention with a window that was six feet wide and eight feet tall. Again, we selected Woodlore PLUS shutters with a standard tilt bar so the clients could have ease of operation of every single louver on these massive panels.
The end result was simply spectacular. We’re so excited to see the final product, and couldn’t wait to share it with the world!
