Supporting Habitat for Humanity is our thanks for a great year

We are so humbled and honored that Clarksville continues to support us at Made in the Shade — so much, so, that we have been given a wonderful opportunity to give back! We’ve had a gangbuster year, and we are always looking for ways to give back to the community that has given so much to us.

Habitat for Humanity is one of the city’s most beloved charities. Most of us know them for their ReStore on Madison Street, but their greatest task is to help families work their way to the American Dream of home ownership.

Our way of giving back is simple: Donate blinds for all new Habitat for Humanity homes built from now on. We have always said that every home deserves quality window treatments, especially families who have worked hard to build sweat equity toward a new home.

Through that work and volunteering, they’re literally adding to the value of their home. By the time they close, the mortgage is reduced to a level where they can afford it on limited income. It’s genuine home ownership through work, sweat, and financial integrity, all the way to the closing table.

Giving back to Clarksville through Habitat for Humanity

Our first Habitat home was dedicated just a few weeks before Thanksgiving. It’s a beautiful two-bedroom house that’s laid out perfectly for them. Nothing compared to the sheer pride and joy that the new homeowners had. They were elated, excited, and overwhelmed that the community would reach out and help them achieve their dream.

We gave them the full Made in the Shade treatment — from beginning to end. Professional measurement, careful color selection, our legendary education on the product, and finally, skilled installation for their blinds when they came in. We all talked, got to know each other, and by the end of the installation, we were all excited for the future.

We’re excited to meet future Habitat home owners, and are looking forward to building our new partnership with the organization as a whole. This past year, 2016, has been a tremendous year for us at Made in the Shade, and we’re so humbled by the level of support you have given to us. Giving back through Habitat is just another way we are excited to give back to our home town.
